Program Results

The Youth ChalleNGe Program has been independently rated one of the most cost-effective, efficient and successful programs for at-risk youth in the United States. In 2003, 75% of program graduates received their high school diploma or GED. More than 50% joined the work force, 19% joined the military and 20% continued their education. Graduates have contributed more than 3 million hours of community service.

Program Evaluation
The Youth ChalleNGe Program is a cost-effective, government funded alternative for high school dropouts  significantly less than the annual cost for incarceration or placement in a boot camp program. Based on an average cost per student of $14,000, compared to $40,000 for someone in the juvenile corrections system, $109 million in juvenile correction costs are saved each year.

Statistics
As of December 2004, nearly 56,000 students have graduated from the Program. An independent audit found that over 90% of the graduates have either entered military service, are employed, or are pursuing higher education.
