Drill sergeants’ harsh commands.
Push-ups, jumping jacks, overhead arm claps, two-mile cadence runs in scorching heat.
And ceaseless thoughts of quitting the Michigan Youth ChalleNGe Academy, the National Guard’s one-of-a-kind military school for at-risk teens.
