DILLON - Wesley Allen’s motivation to join the tough Montana National Guard Youth Challenge was love.

Sure, it sounds strange to leave your girlfriend for five months to get drilled in discipline at a tough program designed for high school dropouts.

But Allen said with his girlfriend in the grade above him, he was desperate to find a way to graduate from high school a year early so they could go to college and do missionary work overseas together.
