CADET MAXWELL TO GRADUATE THUNDERBIRD YOUTH ACADEMY

Cadet Casey Maxwell, of Waukomis, will graduate from Thunderbird Youth Academy at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Burdick Center Gymnasium, 1100 S.E. 9th Street in Pryor. The graduating young men and women will walk across the stage and be recognized for completing 22 weeks of rigorous and intense training.

During their stay at the academy, the cadets participated in numerous community service projects, learned drill and ceremony techniques, studied for their GED and some cadets even took college classes. In addition to these activities, the cadets have had many hours of discipline and physical training.

The academy accepts at-risk youth between the ages of 16 and 18.
