FIRST GENTLEMAN IMPRESSED WITH MYCA

First gentleman Daniel Mulhern visited cadets in the Michigan Youth Challenge Academy on Friday, looking for insight into the at-risk program's mentoring component.

Mulhern, husband of Gov. Jennifer Granholm, had the chance to sit down with six young men and women preparing to graduate from the program June 11.

All six had been involved with drugs and had run-ins with the authorities before coming to MYCA, which is located at the Battle Creek Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
