GUARD ACADEMY GIVES DROPOUTS A NEW START

FORT KNOX, Ky. - It's 5:40 in the morning, and 17-year-old Mary Perry has already made her bed.

But her top blanket isn't pulled tight enough, or her sheet straight enough, to please staff member Kari Boggs, who barks, "It can get a lot better" as she tugs at the thin blue blanket. "You know better."

And she does.
