GUARD PROGRAM FOR YOUTH HONORED

The Oregon National Guard Youth Challenge Program, a military-focused alternative high school in Bend, recently was named one of the top three programs of its kind in the nation.

The program, which is for at-risk youths from across the state, also received top honors for having the best post-residential mentoring program. This is the fourth time in the past five years that the program has been named one of the best in the country.
